What you need to provide: 

  • Own clothing, food, water, communication device, National Park fees and camping equipment

IMPORTANT

  • A mobile or satellite phone is highly recommended for emergency communication. Please check the coverage for your network – e.g. the western coast of the Freycinet Peninsula provides good coverage for Telstra only (as at Mar 09).
  • A National Park entry pass is required when entering the Freycinet National Park. Please contact Parks and Wildlife Tasmania for current rates.
  • Freycinet National Park is a fuel stove area only.  The availability of water is limited on the Freycinet Peninsula – please check with the local Freycinet National Park office before you leave, as you may need to carry enough water for your whole trip.
