Our vessel Vanderlyn is an 7.2 metre shark cat. She gets her name from the historical name of the Freycinet Peninsula. Freycinet was first discovered by European explorersin 642. When navigating the east coast of Tasmania Abel Tasman named Schouten Island and the peninsula Vanderlyn’s Eylandt (believing it to be a chain of islands). This myth was dispelled during the visit of Nicholas Baudin, the French explorer, in 1802-03.

The Vanderlyn boasts 2 x 250 horsepower engines and will get you comfortably and quickly to your destination. With a custom built stern boarding platform we are able to drop you right into the heart of Freycinet National park.

Freycinet Adventures has been hosting guided water based adventures into Freycinet National Park for the past 21 years. Locally owned and operated our staff will give you some great tips on all the best spots in our beautiful backyard.
